Does anyone know anything about Antique Clocks?

My mother just bought this clock time. It was says he is German, but it has a brand or company name. You have a date on this subject in the back, however, was made on February 25, 1902. She knows a lot about antiques (she had an antiques store) and Germany says it is safe, but based on what I know, (I'm an art major), I say it seems French. The guy I bought it from said it is Porceliner, but it could be China. Is a Retail foot long and has pink flowers painted on it, and watermark on the white porcelain and gold watch face. If anyone knows anything about clocks, it would really helpful! We would like to know the origin and brand. If you are unsure, it would be useful to include a link to a site that could give us good information. Thank you very much for answering:)

The best way would be to open the watch and watch your machine. There must marks identifying the manufacturer as the mechanism and the model number and from there you should be able to discern the age. Often mechanisms of clocks and watches were made in different countries of today's homes. An example is the former Tiffany watches mechanisms were made by Patek Philippe. You may need a little dental mirror and good lighting to see the information on the mechanism.
