My tube amp the sound to the loudspeaker, but the sound is not the speaker.?

I bought a Stromberg Carlson Signet time PA 33-tube head in the local antique shop. All the tubes appear to be in good condition and everything becomes in the end. Everything seems to be in good condition, although point to point wiring. I ran into my iPod via the RCA connector that bypasses the preamp, and I had a 6 ohm speaker connected (which was fine, but I could not test my guitar speaker is 8 ohms and has a 8 ohm). I waited in and around 1 minute for the tubes get nice and hot, and I turned on the iPod out loud about and phono volume was 12 hours. To my surprise, he made no noise, but a little noise from the amplification. It was the music. Himself amplifier is the only thing that play the sound. Opened to ensure that no speakers on the inside and there was none. Can anyone tell me 1. What is going on? and 2. You know how I can fix this?

The sound is probably the plates of the output transformer. This is actually quite common with tube amplifiers. [An unlikely possibility that a tube acts as a transducer.] It can cause no harm, and there is nothing that can stop it, except perhaps time to replace the transformer with one that has better adhesion between the sheets – in other words, do not bother trying. You can check the screws holding the transformer and see if they are cowards, but they are probably as strong today as they were when the assembly in the factory. If they are obviously not lose, do not try to tighten. Amplifiers Taps impedance tube are usually quite hard. Most of the recommendations I've seen in the connection tube 6 Amp Ohm speakers have said the 8 ohm tap is the best option. The fact that the speaker does not sound but the amp does have, means there is a connection which must exist in the output circuit of the transformer secondary. Moreover, he consulted a bad image of the scheme in Photobucket: Try to connect to the power 4 ohms. If you still have no sound, the amplifier, disconnect all the speaker wires and use an ohmmeter to check continuity of high school. You should see almost dead short between two terminals. If open, the transformer should be replaced. It may be possible, but it is a job for a good technician rather than a DIY-ER. A link from the transformer secondary to an earlier stage in the unit so there may be some continuity (at least from 4000 to 5000 Ohms, more or less) between the secondary and the chassis. Do not confuse the investigation. Oops! You must add a little more: If a short circuit in the transformer (which is much more difficult but still possible, to be determined), which would be another reason for replacement.
